Information we process
Account information includes your email address, Firebase account identifier and sign-in provider. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; GoalieNow does not store readable passwords. If you choose Google or Apple, the provider supplies the account details you authorize, which may include your name, email or a relay email. Your player profile includes your chosen name, photo, city, position, skill level, biography, availability and optional goalkeeper rate. Community data includes posts and selected photos, likes, teams, matches, rosters, booking requests, chat messages, reports and block lists. If you enable push notifications, we process a device push token and notification preferences. Service providers also process connection information such as IP addresses and operational logs to deliver and protect the service.
How information is used
Uploaded photos may undergo automated safety analysis by Google Cloud Vision before they are shared. We use information to authenticate accounts, show community profiles and games, deliver posts and messages, manage rosters and requests, update unread counts, send account security emails, deliver notifications you enable, answer support requests, and prevent or investigate abuse. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. This version has no advertising or behavioral analytics SDK enabled.
Visibility and sharing
Profiles, posts, uploaded post photos, teams and match information are visible to other signed-in players. A city and the venue you enter may reveal where you play. Chat content is available to conversation members and may be accessed by authorized staff when needed for a reported incident or support. Chats are not end-to-end encrypted. Email addresses, push tokens, preferences, block lists and reports are not public profile fields. Other players can save or screenshot content they receive. We use Google Firebase for authentication, databases, file storage and backend processing; Resend for email; Expo and device notification providers such as Apple and Google for push delivery; and Vercel for the website and account links. These providers process information to supply their services under their applicable terms and data protections. We may disclose information when required by law, to address safety or fraud, protect rights, or as part of a business transfer with legally required notice.
Permissions and your choices
Photo selection is optional and begins only when you choose to add a photo. You can use the app without uploading images. Push permission is optional and can be changed in the app and device settings. Game update emails are optional; essential verification, password reset and security emails are separate. We do not request your contacts, microphone, background location or precise GPS location in this version. You enter your city and match venue yourself. Third-party maps open only when you choose directions. You can update your profile, remove a profile photo, block users and request account or data deletion. Contact support@goalie-now.com to request access, a copy, correction or deletion of your information. We may verify account ownership before fulfilling a request and will respond under applicable law. You may have additional privacy rights depending on your residence, including complaint or appeal rights. Contact us to exercise them without discrimination.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and community information while needed to provide the service and for the purposes described above. Use You → Settings → Delete my account, or the public account-deletion page, to request removal of your account and associated personal information. Deletion removes your authentication account, profile, authored posts and uploaded photos, and removes your messages from active conversations. Shared rosters and game records may retain a non-identifying former-player entry so remaining players can manage their game. Limited records may be retained where necessary to meet legal obligations or handle a documented safety, fraud or legal matter; retained records are restricted to that purpose. Provider logs and backups follow their applicable retention cycles and are not used to restore your deleted account. Contact us for the status of a request.
Security and international processing
We use encrypted network connections and access controls. No system can guarantee complete security. Do not put payment details, identity documents or other sensitive information in posts or chat. The service is operated in the United States; our Firebase community database is in US West. Our providers may process information in the United States and other locations with appropriate contractual safeguards where required.
Adults only and policy changes
GoalieNow accounts are for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly permit children to create accounts. Report an underage account or child safety concern in the app or to support@goalie-now.com. We will investigate and take appropriate action. We update this policy when practices change. The effective date appears above; material changes will be communicated through the app or another appropriate method. Demo mode stores sample activity locally on your device; Settings → Reset sample data removes that sample activity.
